[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 진주대첩기념관 호국마루에서 제74회 개천예술제의 주요 행사인 ‘제18회 전국 가장행렬 경진대회’ 시상식을 개최했다고 17일 밝혔다.
이번 대회는 전국 각지에서 선발된 다양한 단체가 참가해 지역 축제를 넘어 전국 규모의 문화행사로 자리매김했다.
지난 11일 열린 본선에는 총 38개 팀, 1500여 명이 참여해 화려한 의상과 창의적인 연출로 관람객의 큰 호응을 얻었다.
시상결과 ‘해동검도 진주시협회’가 대상을 차지하며 상장과 우승기, 트로피, 상금 500만원을 받는 영예를 안았다.
시민들은 검도의 역동적인 동작과 예술적 퍼포먼스가 결합된 무대를 높은 완성도로 평가했다.
최우수상은 진사부와 점프스쿨 진주혁신이, 우수상은 신명풍무악, 새노리, 경상국립대 민속예술무용학과가 각각 수상했다.
특히 경상국립대 민속예술무용학과는 올해 신설된 ‘참신상’까지 수상해 2관왕을 달성해 젊은 예술인의 창의성을 유감없이 보여줬다.
심사는 공정성과 객관성을 확보하기 위해 시민심사단 74명과 전문심사단 3명의 점수를 합산하는 방식으로 진행됐다.
조규일 진주시장은 “가장행렬 경진대회는 매년 새로운 예술적 시도를 보여주고 있다”며 “올해는 다양한 연령층이 참여해 축제의 의미를 더욱 풍성하게 만들었다”고 말했다.
한편 올해 가장행렬 출정선언식에서는 망진산 봉수대의 거화(擧火) 의식을 재현해 봉수대의 역사적 가치를 재조명하고 관람객들에게 색다른 볼거리를 제공했다.
