[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 경남도는 소아 야간·휴일 진료 사각지대 해소를 위해 진주시에 ‘달빛어린이병원’을 신규 지정하고 20일부터 운영에 들어갔다.
‘달빛어린이병원’은 만 18세 이하 소아환자가 평일 야간과 휴일에도 신속하게 진료받을 수 있도록 운영되는 의료기관으로, 이번에 진주고려병원이 새롭게 지정되면서, 경남도 내 달빛어린이병원은 총 10개소로 확대됐다.
경남도는 올해 7월 1일 밀양시와 거창군에 각각 1개소씩 신규 지정한 데 이어, 이번 진주고려병원 지정으로 서부권 소아환자의 진료 접근성이 한층 개선될 것으로 기대하고 있다. 또한 응급실 과밀화 해소에도 기여할 전망이다.
신규 지정된 진주고려병원은 지역 응급의료기관과의 협력체계를 구축하고, 운영시간에 맞춰 인근 약국(뉴경남약국)과 협약을 체결해 소아환자와 보호자가 더욱 편리하게 의료서비스를 이용할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다.
