[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 예년보다 앞당겨 20일부터 본청 산림정원과와 26개 읍·면·농촌동에 산불방지대책 상황실을 설치하고 비상근무에 들어갔다고 밝혔다.
이 같은 시의 조치는 APEC 개최와 이상고온 등 기후 영향으로 산림청의 산불조심 기간이 종전 11월 1일에서 10월 20일로 조정됨에 따른 것으로 풀이된다.
시는 경남도와 합동으로 산불진화차량 및 장비 점검을 마치고, 지난 17~18일 이틀간 산불전문예방진화대원을 대상으로 실습 중심의 산불방지 교육훈련을 실시했다.
해당 교육은 한국산불방지협회 전문강사가 참여해 산불예방, 진화요령, 안전수칙 등을 집중 교육하는 필수 과정이다.
또 시는 가을철 산불 재난 대비를 위해 산불전문예방진화대 29명을 현장에 조기 배치했으며, 산림연접지 소각행위 5건을 적발해 과태료 150만원을 부과했다.
특히 진주시는 오는 11월부터는 읍·면·동 산불감시원과 진화대원 146명이 추가로 투입할 예정이다.
진주시 관계자는 “산불이 연중화·대형화되고 있다”며 “경작지에서는 소각 대신 영농부산물 파쇄작업을 하고, 예초기 작업 시에도 각별히 주의할 것”을 당부했다.
