이날 오전 11시 대구시 동인청사 2층 상황실에서 '대구광역시 정신건강증진 및 자살예방 업무 협약식'이 열렸다.
김정기 대구시 행정부시장, 민복기 대구시 의사회장, 금병미 대구시 약사회장, 이종훈 대구광역정신건강복지센터장이 참석해 대구시민의 정신건강증진과 자살예방사업에 힘을 모으기로 약속했다.
협약은 ▲대구시민 정신건강증진 및 자살예방을 위한 협력체계 구축 ▲지역사회 정신·자살 고위험군 발굴 및 서비스 연계 ▲생명지킴이 홍보에 필요한 지원 및 생명지킴이 활동 참여 ▲기타 정신건강·자살예방을 위한 상호 요청사항에 대한 협력 등을 주요 골자로 한다.
각 단체가 보유한 전문성과 자원을 적극 활용해 '대구시민 정신·자살 고위험군 발굴과 정신건강 서비스 연계', '생명지킴이 홍보 및 활동 참여' 등에 함께 나선다.
김정기 대구시 행정부시장은 "정신건강 문제는 시민 누구나 겪는 일반적인 문제로 지역 공동체와 함께 고위험군을 찾아내고 지원 체계를 갖추는 게 중요하다"며 "이번 협약이 그 출발점이 되는 의미 있는 협약이 되길 바란다"고 말했다.

Daegu Deputy Mayor Kim Jeong-gi, Daegu Medical Association President Min Bok-gi, Daegu Pharmaceutical Association President Geum Byeong-mi, and Daegu Metropolitan Mental Health Welfare Center Director Lee Jong-hoon attended and pledged to join forces to promote mental health and prevent suicide among Daegu citizens.
The agreement primarily addresses the following: ▲Establishing a cooperative system for mental health promotion and suicide prevention among Daegu citizens; ▲Identifying high-risk groups for mental health and suicide in the community and linking them to services; ▲Providing support for promoting and participating in Lifeguard activities; and ▲Cooperating on other mutual requests for mental health and suicide prevention.
Each organization will actively leverage its expertise and resources to jointly identify high-risk Daegu citizens for mental health and suicide and connect them with mental health services, as well as promote and participate in lifeguard activities.
Daegu City Vice Mayor Kim Jeong-gi stated, "Mental health issues are common problems faced by all citizens. It is crucial to work with local communities to identify high-risk individuals and establish support systems. I hope this agreement serves as a meaningful starting point for that."
