강서구의 대표 문화축제인 ‘제23회 허준축제’가 지난 18일과 19일 이틀간 서울식물원 잔디광장과 마곡광장 일대에서 성황리에 막을 내렸다.
수만 명의 시민과 관광객이 참여하며, 조선왕조 500년의 역사와 문화를 재현한 갈라쇼가 뜨거운 호응을 얻었다.
이번 축제는 ‘백성을 사랑한 명의, 허준의 정신’을 계승하고, 지역민의 문화적 자긍심과 공동체 의식을 높이기 위한 행사로 마련됐다.

진교훈 강서구청장은 “허준 선생의 인술과 애민정신을 되새기고, 강서구민이 하나로 어우러지는 문화의 장이 되길 바란다”며 “강서구의 문화산업이 발전하는 계기가 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.
특히 이번 축제의 하이라이트로 선보인 ‘조선왕조 500년 갈라쇼’는 호서직업전문학교 호서아카데미 김영덕 원장이 기획·연출을 맡아 3부 구성으로 진행됐다.
1부는 패션연기반의 역사극 형식 갈라쇼, 2부는 시문학반의 황진이 시극, 3부는 패션모델반의 전통과 현대가 어우러진 패션쇼로 꾸며졌다.
19일 오후 서울식물원 잔디광장에서 열린 공연에는 관람객들의 박수와 함성이 이어졌으며, 공연장을 가득 메운 시민들은 열정적인 무대에 아낌없는 환호를 보냈다.

이번 공연에는 김종윤(고종), 김정화(명성황후), 김한식(세종대왕), 김사랑(인헌왕후), 정해정(대대부인), 양종오(영의정), 이은옥(성춘향), 김영애·전선애·장경숙(귀빈), 강영순(공주), 원형래·김혜경·서지현·이명희(귀비), 박동일·김영배(호위무사), 고재현(천하제1검객), 최덕찬(조선제1무사) 등 다수의 배우와 모델들이 출연해 조선시대의 인물과 문화를 생생하게 재현했다.
진교훈 강서구청장은 축제 현장을 방문해 시민과 관람객들에게 직접 인사를 전하며 “강서구는 허준 선생의 인술 정신이 살아 숨 쉬는 도시”라고 강조했다. 그는 공연팀과 스태프를 격려하며 함께 기념사진을 찍는 등 현장 소통에도 나섰다.
공연을 총괄한 최덕찬 감독(호서아카데미 모델연기과·시문학과 특임교수, 조선왕조TV 회장)은 “허준 선생의 사랑과 봉사 정신을 잇는 강서구가 앞으로 대한민국 문화예술 중심 도시로 발전하길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
이번 축제를 위해 김영덕 원장을 비롯해 최수현, 조미라, 신제나, 장은나 교수 등 관계자들이 기획과 연출을 담당했으며, 무대와 음향, 조명, 영상, 의상, 헤어·메이크업 등 각 분야 전문가들이 협업했다.
또한 신미숙 광주전남지회장, 김상윤·이강흥 고문, 송재필 회장, 이설이 원장, 박철옥 사무처장, 김형기 문화국장, 촬영감독 박의일, 한복 디자이너 박나리 원장, 사진작가 최인찬, 메이크업 아티스트 신유진 원장 등이 참여해 축제의 완성도를 높였다.
