[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 23일 진주실내체육관에서 ‘제10회 어린이 세발자전거 대회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 진주시어린이집연합회가 주관하고 진주시가 후원했으며, 관내 어린이집 원생과 교사 등 약 3000여 명이 참여해 성황을 이뤘다.
이날 행사에는 조규일 진주시장과 백승흥 시의회 의장, 도·시의원 등 주요 인사들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
이날 내빈들은 어린이들의 눈높이에 맞춰 격려사와 축사를 생략하고 아이들과 함께 축하 퍼포먼스를 펼치며 즐거운 시간을 가졌다.
식전행사는 연령별 세발자전거 예선경기와 흥미로운 마술공연이 진행돼 어린이들의 호응을 이끌었다.
이어 본 행사에서는 5세 반 세발자전거 달리기와 6~7세 반 두발자전거 달리기 경기가 열려 현장은 웃음과 응원으로 가득 찼다.
또 부대행사는 붕붕카, 에어바운스, 소방체험 등 다양한 놀이와 체험 프로그램이 운영됐다.
특히 이날 행사를 통해 아이들은 놀이와 체험을 통해 자전거와 더욱 친숙해졌으며, 가족과 함께 즐거운 추억을 쌓는 뜻깊은 시간을 보냈다.
조규일 진주시장은 “진주시의 보석 같은 어린이들이 건강하고 행복한 어른으로 성장할 수 있도록 아이가 행복한 진주를 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 진주시는 시민 누구나 안심하고 자전거를 이용할 수 있도록 매년 전 시민을 대상으로 자전거 보험을 가입하고 있다.
