한국부동산원(원장 손태락)이 지역 청소년의 디지털 교육 환경 개선을 위한 사회공헌 활동에 나섰다.
22일 부동산원은 대구 서대구초등학교에서 ‘디지털 교육 기자재 전달식’을 열고, 인공지능(AI)·공공데이터 활용 등 미래형 교육을 실현할 수 있는 기자재를 지원했다고 밝혔다.
이번 지원은 지난 9월 진행된 청소년 인공지능·데이터 교육 프로그램의 후속 사업으로, 학생들이 창의적이고 실습 중심의 디지털 교육을 받을 수 있는 환경을 마련하기 위해 추진됐다.
특히 최신 교육기술 접근성이 낮은 학생들에게 균등한 학습 기회를 제공하고, 디지털 전환 시대에 필요한 역량을 키울 수 있도록 돕는 데 초점을 맞췄다.
“디지털 교육의 사각지대 줄인다”
한국부동산원은 지역사회 교육 불균형 해소를 위한 다양한 사회공헌 사업을 지속해왔다.
지난 2022년부터 청소년 교육·놀이공간 ‘들락날락’을 조성하고, 결식 우려 아동에게 반찬을 지원했으며, 대구 지역 초등학생을 대상으로 방과후 온라인 교육 프로그램도 운영 중이다.
이번 기자재 지원은 이러한 사회적 책임 활동의 연장선이다.
한국부동산원 유은철 부원장은 “AI·데이터 교육 프로그램이 학생들에게 큰 호응을 얻은 만큼, 이번 기자재 지원이 학교의 디지털 학습 환경을 한 단계 높이는 계기가 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 학생들에게 더 나은 학습 기회를 제공하기 위해 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
인공지능·데이터 역량 교육, 세대 확산
부동산원은 앞으로 초·중·고 학생뿐 아니라 노년층까지 아우르는 디지털 역량 교육 확대에 나설 계획이다.
AI와 데이터 활용 능력은 단순 기술을 넘어 생활 전반에 필요한 필수 역량으로 부상하고 있어, 세대 간 격차 해소와 지역사회 경쟁력 강화에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
이번 사업은 단순 물품 기부를 넘어, ‘교육 접근성’이라는 공공적 가치를 실현한 사례로 평가된다.
한국부동산원이 공공기관으로서 교육과 기술의 간극을 메우고, 지역사회와 함께 미래 인재 양성 기반을 다진다는 점에서 의미가 크다.
Korea Real Estate Board Takes Action to Close the 'Digital Education Gap'

The Korea Real Estate Board (REB) (President Son Tae-rak) has launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to improve the digital education environment for local youth.
On the 22nd, REB announced that it held a 'Digital Education Equipment Donation Ceremony' at Seodaegu Elementary School in Daegu, providing equipment to facilitate future-oriented education, including the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and public data.
This support is a follow-up to the AI and data education program for youth conducted last September, and was pursued to create an environment where students can receive creative and practice-oriented digital education.
In particular, the initiative focused on providing equal learning opportunities to students with low access to the latest educational technologies and helping them cultivate the essential competencies needed in the era of digital transformation.
"Reducing Blind Spots in Digital Education"
The Korea Real Estate Board has continuously pursued various CSR projects to address educational inequality in the local community.
Since 2022, REB has created 'Deullaknallak,' a space for youth education and play, provided side dishes to children at risk of going hungry, and operated an online after-school education program for elementary school students in the Daegu area. This latest equipment donation is an extension of these social responsibility activities.
Yoo Eun-cheol, Vice President of the Korea Real Estate Board, said, "As the AI and data education program received a great response from students, we hope this equipment donation will serve as an opportunity to elevate the school's digital learning environment to the next level. We will continue to provide support to offer better learning opportunities to students in the future."
AI and Data Competency Education Expands Across Generations
REB plans to expand its digital competency education to encompass not only elementary, middle, and high school students but also the elderly population.
As the ability to utilize AI and data is emerging as an essential competency needed across all aspects of life, beyond simple technology, this expansion is expected to contribute to closing the intergenerational gap and strengthening regional competitiveness.
This initiative is evaluated as an example of realizing the public value of 'educational accessibility,' going beyond simple material donation.
It holds significant meaning as the Korea Real Estate Board, as a public institution, is bridging the gap between education and technology and laying the groundwork for nurturing future talent together with the local community.
