진주시, 초전공원 새단장

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 대한민국 정원산업박람회 개최지였던 초전공원 일원에 국화 등 가을꽃을 심어 공원의 경관을 새롭게 단장하며 시민들의 눈길을 끌고 있다.

이번 가을꽃 식재는 박람회 기간에 조성된 주요 정원을 중심으로 추진됐으며, 국화와 초화류를 심어 공원이 가을의 정취를 느낄 수 있는 휴식공간으로 꾸몄다.

시는 이번 사업을 통해 박람회 이후에도 초전공원을 지속적으로 관리하고, 시민과 방문객이 다시 찾고 싶은 공간으로 조성해 ‘정원도시 진주’의 명성을 이어가고 있다.

또한 시는 초전공원을 비롯한 주요 도시공원의 유지·관리체계를 강화하고, 계절별 경관개선과 환경 친화적 관리방식을 확대해 쾌적한 녹색공간을 조성할 계획이다.

진주시 관계자는 “계절마다 새로운 풍경이 어우러지는 시민의 일상 속 쉼터가 되길 바란다”며 “공원이 시민 삶 속에 자연스럽게 스며드는 공간으로 가꾸겠다”고 말했다.
