【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 미래 세대의 안전 의식 함양을 위해 펼친 ‘어린이 안전캠프’가 큰 호응 속에 성공적으로 막을 내렸다.
남구는 지난 27일부터 28일까지 이틀 동안 구민체육광장에서 어린이 안전캠프를 열었다.
이번 행사는 (사)대구안전생활실천시민연합과 협력해 마련됐다. 캠프는 아이들의 시선에 맞춘 체험형 부스를 중심으로 구성돼, 아이들이 쉽고 재미있게 다양한 안전 수칙을 익힐 수 있도록 준비됐다.
이번 캠프에는 남구 관내 39개 어린이집에서 960여 명의 어린이들이 참여했다. 행사에는 (사)대구안전생활실천시민연합과 함께 서부·강서소방서도 힘을 보탰다. 화재 대피, 가스 안전 등 10개의 체험 부스와 소방 안전 체험 차량이 운영되며 다양한 안전 교육이 함께 진행됐다.
특히 횡단보도 사고 위험이 안전 교육을 받은 어린이에게서는 40% 이상 감소한다는 연구 결과가 나오면서, 이번 캠프의 의미가 한층 빛났다.
조재구 남구청장은 “이번 캠프가 어린이들이 일상에서 발생할 수 있는 안전사고에 미리 대비하는 데 실질적인 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로 어린이는 물론 구민 모두를 위한 안전 교육 기회를 더욱 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Nam-gu District Mayor Cho Jae-gu said, “I hope this camp will be of practical help in helping children prepare in advance for safety accidents that may occur in their daily lives,” and added, “We will continue to expand safety education opportunities for not only children but also all residents.”
