【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 북구의 대표 반려동물 문화행사인 ‘제3회 북구 멍멍 페스티벌’이 지난 11월 1일과 2일, 가족 단위 시민과 반려견들이 함께한 가운데 성황리에 마무리됐다.
이번 축제는 ‘반려동물과 함께하는 가을 가족놀이터’라는 주제로 개최됐다. 어린이부터 반려인 가족까지 남녀노소 모두가 참여해 즐길 수 있는 열린 행사로 진행됐으며, 이틀 동안 약 1만 2천여 명이 축제장을 찾는 등 북구를 대표하는 반려동물 문화축제로 자리잡았다.
축제 첫날 열린 개막식에는 배광식 북구청장, 최수열 북구의회 의장, 김승수 국회의원 등 지역 주요 인사들이 참석해 행사의 의미를 더했다. 배광식 북구청장은 관음동에서 활동 중인 제2기 펫폴리단(우리동네 순찰견) 우수단원에게 감사장을 전달하며 올바른 반려문화 확산에 앞장설 것을 당부했다.
무대 프로그램으로는 1일 ‘신비아파트 싱어롱쇼’, 2일에는 설채현 수의사의 반려동물 토크콘서트가 이어져 가족 단위 관람객들의 큰 호응을 이끌어냈다. 행사장에는 어린이를 위한 핑크모래놀이터, 수의사 체험, 반려인 대상 산책교육과 힐링파라솔존 등 다양한 체험공간이 마련돼 참가자들에게 풍성한 즐길 거리를 제공했다.
잔디광장 일대에서는 30여 개의 체험·홍보 부스가 운영됐으며, 동물등록, 반려동물 건강 체크, CPR·재난대비 교육, 노즈워크 만들기, MBTI 검사 등 다채로운 프로그램이 진행됐다. 대구한의대, 영진전문대 등 지역 대학과 관음동도시재생현장지원센터도 협력 프로그램을 선보이며 축제의 활기를 더했다.
이밖에도 반려견 동호회 ‘위드독’이 진행한 인식개선 캠페인, 펫용품 전시와 판매 등이 축제장의 분위기를 뜨겁게 달궜다.
배광식 북구청장은 “시민 여러분의 높은 질서 의식과 성숙한 반려문화 덕분에 행사가 안전하고 성공적으로 마무리됐다”며 “내년에는 더욱 다양한 프로그램으로 발전된 축제를 선보이겠다”고 밝혔다.
