10일 군산해양경찰서에 따르면 이날 오전 8시 53분(신고 접수시간)께 어청도 남서쪽 약 150㎞ 해상인 한중 어업협정선 내측 37㎞에서 99톤급 중국 어선 1척이 전복됐다.
사고는 중국 해경이 서해해양경찰청으로 통보하면서 알려졌다.
사고 선박에는 총 11명이 승선하고 있었으며 2명은 인근을 지나던 화물선이 이들을 발견해 구조한 것으로 파악됐다.
9명의 생사는 현재까지 확인되지 않아 실종된 상태다.
사고 선박에서 흘러나온 것으로 추정되는 얇은 유막(10×500m) 이외에 다른 표류물 등은 발견되지 않고 있다.
