브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= KT는 한국교원대학교와 미래 디지털 인재 양성을 목표로 AI 기반 교육 현장의 디지털 전환을 함께 추진하는 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 11일 밝혔다.
양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 교육 현장에서 AI 기술을 효과적으로 활용할 수 있도록 기술 지원부터 활용 방안까지 체계적인 협력 체계를 마련하기로 했다. 교원대가 AI 교육 활성화를 위해 운영 중인 ‘AI에듀테크센터’를 핵심 거점으로 다양한 AI 관련 활동도 추진한다.
KT는 교원대와 함께 AI와 클라우드, 네트워크 등 AICT 역량을 바탕으로 AI 기반의 교육 특화 플랫폼과 솔루션을 연구·개발하는 데 주력한다. 인프라 구축 자문과 함께 AI·데이터 플랫폼 방향성 제안, 데이터 및 시스템 보안 관리 방안 등의 종합 컨설팅도 지원한다.
또한, 교원대 내 AI에듀테크센터의 다양한 AI 교육 프로그램을 기획·발굴해 향후 사업 협력을 검토하고, KT의 전문 인력을 활용한 재학생 역량 강화 지원과 AI 기반 교수·학습 환경 조성에서도 협력할 계획이다.
이를 계기로 KT와 교원대는 AI 기술과 교육을 결합한 실질적인 AI 협력 모델을 개발하고, 빠르게 변화하는 교육 환경에 대응하는 기반을 강화할 계획이다. 그 과정에서 디지털 인재 양성 모델을 성공적으로 뿌리내려 전국으로 확산시키는 것이 목표다.
한편, KT는 지역의 교육 기관과 함께 교육 현장의 AX에 앞장서고 있다. 앞서 지난 6월에는 계명대학교, 한국마이크로소프트와 디지털 연구 교육 플랫폼 ‘K-MIND’ 센터 설립을 위한 업무협약을 체결하고, 대구·경북 청년들을 위한 실무 중심의 디지털 교육 등을 지원하고 있다.
KT Enterprise부문장 안창용 부사장은 “AI와 네트워크를 결합한 실무형 교육 및 연구 협력을 통해 교육 현장의 AX를 가속화하겠다”며 “교원대와 함께 현장 중심의 혁신 모델을 만들고 미래 인재 양성에 기여할 수 있도록 기술과 인프라를 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
