[브레이크뉴스=이성용 기자] 창원특례시의 환경인프라 우수성이 전국적으로 입증되었다. 창원시는 진동물재생센터가 환경부 산하 한국환경공단이 실시한 ‘2024년도 기술진단 완료시설 운영관리평가’에서 최우수시설로 선정되었다고 18일 밝혔다.
이번 평가는 전국 89개 기술진단 완료시설 중 개선계획서를 제출한 59개소를 대상으로 진행되었으며, 시설 규모에 따라 4개 그룹으로 나누어 3단계에 걸친 엄격한 심사를 거쳤다.
진동물재생센터는 Ⅱ그룹(하수 2만m³/일 미만, 폐수 2천m³/일 미만)에서 최우수시설로 선정되는 쾌거를 이루었다. 특히, 유지관리 계획과 운영관리 현황 등 전반적인 분야에서 높은 점수를 획득하며, 지역 수질 개선에 기여한 공로를 공식적으로 인정받았다.
또한, 노후 시설물의 체계적인 교체·보완을 추진하는 등 하수처리의 안정성을 강화하는 데 주력했다. 마산합포구 진동면 고현리에 위치한 진동물재생센터는 하루 최대 6천 톤의 하수를 처리할 수 있는 규모로, 오염물질 제거와 방류수 수질을 극대화할 수 있는 MBR(Membrane Bio-Reactor, 막분리 활성슬러지법) 공법을 적용하고 있다.
