전북 전주시가 대중교통 이용편의 및 시내버스 노선 효율성을 높이기 위해 지난 2020년 11월 도입한 마을버스 '바로온'이 운행되는 지역을 대상으로 20일 '교통편의 의견 수렴을 위한 찾아가는 간담회'를 실시했다.
전주시설공단이 주관한 이번 간담회는 8개 방면ㆍ27개 노선 마을버스 이용 시민들의 다양한 의견을 여과 없이 청취해 수요자 중심의 노선 운영 개선책을 마련하기 위해 2차례에 걸쳐 진행됐다.
특히 겨울철 폭설과 결빙 등 돌발 상황에 버스 운행에 차질이 생길 경우를 대비해 대처 요령 및 기상 특보 단계에 따른 교통 소외 지역이 발생하지 않도록 승ㆍ하차 장소 지정 대책도 안내했다.
박동선 마을버스복지부장은 "정기노선 외 전주시 행정계획에 따라 운행되는 특별노선도 체계적으로 관리하는 등 대중교통 인프라 확충 계획을 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 예정"이라며 "시민은 물론 관광객까지 모두가 편안하게 이용할 수 있는 대중교통 서비스 제공에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
한편 '바로온'은 시내버스가 운행되지 않는 지역에 거주하는 시민들이 주요 생활거점까지 이동할 수 있도록 오전 6시부터 오후 10시까지 운행한다.
