[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시 자치경찰위원회가 ‘제5회 자치경찰 동행 대상’ 수상자로 부산진구, MG새마을금고 부산지역본부, 김영자 모범운전자회 북부지회장을 선정했다. 범죄예방·사회적 약자 보호·교통안전 등 생활 밀착 분야에서 지역 맞춤형 협력 치안에 기여한 공로를 인정받았다.
부산시 자치경찰위원회는 3개 부문(기초지자체·유관·협업 기관·민간인)에서 올해 수상자를 확정했다고 21일 밝혔다. 자치경찰 동행대상은 2021년 자치경찰제 도입과 함께 제정되어 지역 협력 치안에 기여한 기관·단체·개인을 매년 선정한다. 올해는 구·군, 경찰청·경찰서의 신청·추천을 바탕으로 심사위원회 심사를 거쳐 수상자를 결정했다.
■ 기초지자체 부문: 부산진구
부산진구는 부산진경찰서와 협력해 안심비상벨·방범 CCTV 확충, 안심마을 조성 등 각종 범죄예방 사업을 추진하며 높은 평가를 받았다. 또한 치매안심센터·부산진경찰서와 함께 치매환자 배회감지기 지원사업을 실시했고, 고령 운전자 교통사고 예방을 위한 조례 제정과 교육·홍보 활동 등으로 지역 교통안전 강화에 기여했다.
■ 유관·협업 기관 부문: MG새마을금고 부산지역본부
MG새마을금고 부산지역본부는 부산경찰청과 민·관 협력 업무협약을 체결하고, 사회공헌사업과 연계해 자율방범대에 방범조끼·전자호루라기 등 안전장비를 지원하며 공동체 치안 기반 조성에 힘써왔다.
■ 민간인 부문: 김영자 모범운전자회 북부지회장
김영자 지회장은 10여 년간 모범운전자회에서 활동하며 출근길 교통정체 해소, 지역 행사 교통관리, 교통안전 캠페인 등을 꾸준히 수행해 지역 교통질서 확립에 기여한 공로가 인정됐다.
시상식은 오는 12월 18일 오후 4시 도모헌에서 열리는 ‘부산자치경찰, 동행의 날’ 행사에서 진행되며, 수상자에게는 부산시 자치경찰위원장상이 수여된다.
김철준 부산시 자치경찰위원장은 “자치경찰제의 성과는 시민과 가장 가까운 현장에서 헌신해 온 분들의 노력 덕분”이라며 “민·관·경 협력을 기반으로 부산이 더욱 안전하고 신뢰받는 도시가 되도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.

The Busan Autonomous Police Commission has selected Busanjin District, the MG Community Credit Cooperative Busan Regional Headquarters and Kim Young-ja, head of the Northern Branch of the Model Drivers’ Association, as winners of the 5th Autonomous Policing Partnership Awards. The awards recognize organizations and citizens who have strengthened local safety through crime prevention, protection of vulnerable groups and traffic safety initiatives.
The commission announced Monday that it finalized winners in three categories—local government, partner institutions and individuals—after reviewing recommendations submitted by district offices, the National Police Agency and local police stations. Established in 2021 with the launch of the autonomous policing system, the awards aim to highlight effective community-based public-safety cooperation.
Busanjin District Recognized for Local Safety Programs
Busanjin District received the local government award for its joint efforts with the Busanjin Police Station, including expanding emergency call bells and security CCTV networks and operating “Safe Village” projects. The district also partnered with the Dementia Relief Center and police to distribute tracking devices to prevent missing-person incidents involving dementia patients. In addition, the district enacted an ordinance supporting voluntary driver’s-license returns by older drivers and carried out outreach and education to improve traffic safety.
MG Community Credit Cooperative Honored for Community Policing Support
The MG Community Credit Cooperative Busan Regional Headquarters won in the partner-institution category for signing a public-private cooperation agreement with the Busan Metropolitan Police Agency and supporting community patrol groups. The organization provided safety gear such as vests and electronic whistles through its social-contribution programs, helping strengthen grassroots community policing.
Volunteer Driver Kim Young-ja Wins Individual Award
Kim Young-ja, who has volunteered with the Model Drivers’ Association for more than a decade, was recognized for easing traffic congestion during morning rush hours, assisting traffic control at local events and leading numerous road-safety campaigns.
The awards will be presented Dec. 18 at 4 p.m. during the “Busan Autonomous Police: Day of Partnership” ceremony at Domoheon.
Commission Chair Kim Cheol-joon said the achievements of the autonomous policing system are rooted in “the dedication of those who work closest to residents,” adding that the commission will continue strengthening public-private-police cooperation to make Busan “a safer and more trusted city.”
