세종시가 국회 예산 심의가 막바지에 이른 가운데 내년도 주요 국비 사업 확보를 위해 총력전에 나섰다.
이승원 세종시 경제부시장은 26일 국회를 찾아 예산결산특별위원회 소속 이재관 의원을 면담하고, 세종시 핵심 현안 사업의 정부 예산 반영을 적극 요청했다.
이번 면담은 김병기 더불어민주당 원내대표가 “내년도 예산안을 법정 시한인 12월 2일 본회의에서 처리하겠다”고 밝힌 직후 이뤄지면서, 최종 증액 심사를 앞둔 예산 확보 전략의 일환으로 해석된다.

이 부시장은 면담 자리에서 “공동캠퍼스는 입주 대학의 임대료 수입으로 운영되지만 초기 단계인 현 시점에서는 안정적 운영을 위한 국비 지원이 필수적”이라며 운영비와 관리비 지원 필요성을 강조했다.
또한 “공동캠퍼스 내 핵심 시설인 바이오지원센터의 장비 확충이 시급하다”며 실습·연구 기자재 확보의 필요성도 부각했다.
현재 바이오지원센터는 기본 설비 구축을 마친 상태로, 내부 이동형 기자재 확보가 완료되면 2026년 충남대학교 의과대학의 입주와 함께 본격적인 운영이 가능할 것으로 전망된다.
