안 장관은 “한국 국방부장관으로서 최초로 스웨덴을 방문해 14년 만의 회담을 개최하게 된 것을 뜻깊게 생각한다”며 “6·25 전쟁 당시 의료지원단 파견과 중립국감독위원회 참여 등 한반도의 평화와 번영을 위해 지속적으로 기여해온 스웨덴에 깊은 사의를 표한다”고 밝혔다.
