이재명 대통령이 2일 최근 대규모 개인정보 유출 논란에 휩싸인 쿠팡 사태 관련해 “사고 원인을 조속 규명하고 엄중 책임을 물어야 한다”고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 열린 제52차 국무회의 모두 발언에서 이같이 말한 후 "(개인정보 보호 관행 관련) 인공지능·디지털 시대 핵심 자산인 개인정보를 소홀히 여기는 잘못된 인식·관행을 이번 기회에 완전 바꿔야 한다”고 강조했다.
그러면서 "관계 부처는 해외 사례를 참고해 과징금을 강화하고 징벌적 손해배상 제도를 현실화하는 등 실질·실효적 대책에 나서달라”고 주문했다.
또 "(임금 체불 문제 경우) 올 상반기 기준 피해액만도 역대 최대 1조1000억을 넘고 있다”며 “이 문제 해결을 위해 기존 방식을 뛰어넘는 정책적 접근이 필요하다”고 했다.
이어 "철저한 현장 점검·상습 체불에 대한 처벌 강화 방안을 추진하라”며 “임금 체불 제로 사회를 만들기 위해 부처 역량을 모을 때”라고 했다.
더불어 "지난해 12·3 비상계엄 사태가 발생한 지 벌써 1년"이라며 "비상계엄 저지·헌정질서 수호에 함께한 국민들에 표창 등 의미 있는 증서를 수여하고 국민적 노고·국민주권 정신을 대대로 기억하기 위한 방안을 마련해 나갈 생각"이라고 밝혔다.
