이재명 대통령이 5일 "서울 등 수도권 집값 문제 해결을 위해서도 지역 균형 발전은 필요 요소"라고 말했다.
대통령실에 따르면 이 대통령은 이날 오후 충남 천안시 한국기술교육대에서 열린 '충남의 마음을 듣다' 타운홀 미팅에서 "지역 균형 발전은 대한민국이 생존할 수 있는 유일한 길"이라며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "한때 수도권 집중이 국가 성장 전략이었던 때도 있었으나 이젠 국가 성장 발전을 심각히 저해하는 요인이 됐다"며 "지방 투자는 미안하니 좀 도와주고 배려해 주자는 차원이었는데 이젠 국가 생존 전략이 됐다"고 했다.
또 "대한민국이 지속 성장·발전하는 것 뿐 아닌 현 상태 유지도 지금처럼 수도권 집중이 심화되면 불가능하다"며 "수도권 쏠림의 구조적 요인으로 수도권 집값도 잡기 어렵고, 부동산 문제 해결을 위해서라도 국가 균형 발전이 필요하다"고 했다.
이어 "서울·수도권 집값 때문에 욕 많이 먹는 편인데 대책이 없고, 구조적 요인이라 모든 정책 역량을 동원해도 해결 안 된다"며 "근본 원인은 수도권 집중"이라고 했다.
