[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 2025년 경상남도 지방하천정비 평가에서 도내 18개 시·군 가운데 최우수기관으로 선정됐다고 9일 밝혔다.
이번 평가는 지방하천 제방과 호안 상태, 하천시설물 관리, 퇴적토 및 유수 지장물 정비 등 유지관리 전반을 대상으로 봄·가을 두 차례 실시해 각 지자체의 관리 수준을 종합적으로 진행했다.
진주시는 올해 하천시설물 정비, 퇴적토 준설, 지장목 제거 등 기본 정비사업을 꾸준히 추진, 수문관리자 전문교육을 통해 현장 대응능력까지 강화해 실효성 높은 관리 체계를 구축했다.
특히 시는 기간제근로자를 채용해 하천유지관리단을 운영함으로써 상시 점검과 체계적인 정비를 지속해온 점이 높이 평가돼 최우수기관 선정의 결정적 요소가 됐다.
시는 지난 2019년 우수기관 선정에 이어 6년 만에 최우수기관이라는 성과를 거두며 하천환경 개선을 위한 지속적인 노력의 가치를 증명했다.
