이재명 대통령이 10일 "정부는 반도체 산업 발전에 최선을 다하겠다"고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 용산 대통령실에서 열린 'AI(인공지능) 시대 반도체 산업 육성 전략 보고회'에 참석해 "대한민국이 새로 도약해야 하는 시기로 산업 경제 발전이 그 핵심이고 그중 반도체는 경쟁력을 갖춘 분야"라며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "우물을 좁게 파면 빨리 팔 수 있지만 깊게 파기는 어렵다"며 "시간이 걸리더라도 더 넓고 깊게 파는 길을 갔음 좋겠다는 게 정책 최고책임자로서 소망"이라고 했다.
또 "자본 논리가 작동해 기업이 선의로 경영을 하는 데 한계가 있다"며 "균형 발전 전략에 부합하는 방식으로 경영하는 기업들에 대해 세제·규제·인프라 구축 등 지원을 준비 중"이라고 했다.
