LG디스플레이가 파주시 저소득 취약계층을 위해 3,000만 원의 후원금을 전달하며 따뜻한 나눔을 실천했다.
파주시는 지난 11일 LG디스플레이로부터 관내 저소득 취약계층 지원을 위한 후원금 3,000만 원을 기탁받았다고 12일 밝혔다.

이날 전달식에는 김경일 파주시장을 비롯해 정상식 LG디스플레이 노동조합 위원장, 이한구 경영지원그룹장 상무 등 관계자들이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
LG디스플레이는 2010년부터 파주시 취약계층을 위한 후원금 전달을 시작해 올해로 16년째 나눔을 이어오고 있어 그 의미가 더욱 깊다.
정상식 LG디스플레이 노동조합 위원장은 "임직원들이 따뜻한 마음으로 모은 성금이 취약계층을 위해 쓰여 지역사회를 더욱 따뜻하고 풍요롭게 만드는 데 보탬이 되길 바란다"며 "앞으로도 지역사회 소외계층에게 힘이 될 수 있도록 다양한 상생 활동을 지속적으로 펼쳐 나가겠다"고 말했다.

김경일 파주시장은 "매년 파주시 취약계층을 위해 다방면으로 나눔을 실천하는 LG디스플레이에 진심으로 감사드린다"며 "파주시도 취약계층 지원을 위해 더욱 노력하며 지역사회의 따뜻한 나눔 문화를 함께 만들어 나가겠다"고 화답했다.
이번에 전달된 성금 3,000만 원은 경기사회복지공동모금회를 통해 복지사각지대에 놓인 주민과 사례관리 발굴 대상자의 생계 지원에 사용될 예정이다.
한편 LG디스플레이는 교통안전 시설물 설치, 김장 나눔, 주거환경 개선, DMZ 생태 개선 등 다양한 사회공헌사업을 전개하며 기업의 사회적 책임 실현에 앞장서고 있다.
