세종특별자치시가 ‘첨단기업 유치 임차료 지원사업’을 통해 총 8개 기업을 새롭게 유치하며 세종테크밸리 활성화에 박차를 가하고 있다.
세종시는 17일 이번 사업이 세종테크밸리의 실질적 가동률을 높이는 촉매제 역할을 했다고 밝혔다.
‘첨단기업 유치 임차료 지원사업’은 세종테크밸리를 중심으로 첨단산업 기업의 본사·연구소 이전을 촉진하기 위해 올해 하반기 처음 도입됐다.
사업 참여 기업에는 2년간 최대 4000만 원의 임차료와 사무실 공사비 500만 원이 지원된다. 또한 입주 기업은 임대기업과의 협약을 통해 약 6개월치 ‘렌트프리(무상 임대)’ 혜택도 추가로 받을 수 있다.
세종시는 지난 8월 첫 모집공고 이후 매달 현장 설명회를 열고 입주 희망 기업을 대상으로 유치 홍보에 나선 결과, 14개 기업이 신청서를 제출했다. 이 중 최종 심의위원회 평가를 거쳐 ,입주 업종의 적합성 ,기술 경쟁력 ,고용 창출 가능성 등을 종합적으로 고려해 8개 기업이 선정됐다.
선정된 기업들은 미래 모빌리티, 디지털 헬스케어, 정보보호 등 세종시 전략산업과 맞닿은 성장성 높은 유망기업으로, 이 중 4개 기업은 이미 본사 이전이나 연구소 신설을 완료했다. 나머지 4개 기업도 이전 절차를 진행 중이다.
세종시는 이번 성과로 테크밸리 내 유망기업의 실제 입주율이 크게 높아진 것으로 보고 있다. 현재 단지에는 레인보우로보틱스, 마크로젠, 수젠텍, 네이버데이터센터 등 앵커기업이 이미 운영 중이거나 준공을 앞두고 있어 시너지 효과가 기대된다.
