숲가꾸기 사업 평가는 충북 11개 시․군과 산림환경연구소를 포함한 12개 기관의 숲가꾸기 사업 대상지, 추진 과정의 적절성, 기술성, 정책, 시책 반영 여부 등을 종합적으로 살피는 제도다.
최우수 1기관, 우수 2기관을 선정하는 평가에서 진천군은 지난 2015년 최우수상 수상 이후 다시 한번 최우수상을 거머쥐었다.
군은 생거진천 치유의 숲 조성, 국내 최대 규모 수목원 조성 협약 체결, 방치된 공간의 도시숲 전환 등 다양한 산림 공간을 만들고 있으며 지난해부터 2년 연속 세계 산림치유포럼이 진천에서 열리고 있다.
최두식 군 산림녹지과장은 “앞으로 적극적인 현장관리와 산림시책 추진을 통해 진천군의 숲가꾸기 사업이 지속적인 모범 사례로 소개될 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

Jincheon County Wins Top Award in Forest '25' Project Evaluation
Jincheon County, North Chungcheong Province, has won the top award for achieving first place in the 2025 Forest Management Project Evaluation.
The Forest Management Project Evaluation system comprehensively evaluates the forest management project sites, the appropriateness of the implementation process, technical feasibility, policies, and the incorporation of relevant policies into the 12 organizations, including 11 cities and counties in North Chungcheong Province and the Korea Forest Environment Research Institute.
Jincheon County, which selects one top organization and two excellent organizations, has once again won the top award, following its 2015 top award.
The county is creating diverse forest spaces, including the creation of the Saenggeo-Jincheon Healing Forest, signing an agreement to create Korea's largest arboretum, and converting neglected spaces into urban forests. The World Forest Healing Forum has been held in Jincheon for two consecutive years since last year.
