【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군 충북혁신도시에 건립된 국립소방병원이 지난 18일 의료기관 개설 허가를 마치고, 오는 12월 29일부터 본격적인 시범 운영에 돌입한다.
조병옥 음성군수는 22일 국립소방병원을 방문해 개원 준비 상황을 최종 점검했다.
이번 방문은 음성군(110억), 충북도(50억), 진천군(40억) 등 총 200억 원의 지방비가 투입된 최첨단 의료장비 도입 현황을 공유하고, 교통 및 응급의료 지원, 지역 농·축산물 공급 등 곽영호 병원장과 함께 행정적 협력 방안을 논의하기 위해 진행됐다.
서울대학교병원이 위탁 운영하는 국립소방병원은 병원장을 포함해 내과, 외과, 소아청소년과, 산부인과, 재활의학과, 마취통증의학과, 진단검사의학과, 영상의학과 8개과에 전문의 9명을 확보하여 개설허가를 받았다.
오는 24일 1호 환자 진료 등을 마친 뒤 29일부터 내과, 외과, 소아청소년과, 산부인과, 재활의학과 등 5개 외래 진료과목을 중심으로 시범 운영을 시작한다.
시범 진료 기간인 내년 2월까지는 진료 체계 점검을 위해 소방·경찰 공무원 및 그 직계가족을 대상으로 사전 예약제 진료를 시행하며, 일반 주민들은 내년 3월부터 진료를 받을 수 있다.
병원 측은 내년 6월 19개 진료과목, 100병상을 갖춘 종합병원으로서의 정식 개원을 목표로 인력 채용과 보완 사항 점검에 박차를 가하고 있다.
군 관계자는 “국립소방병원은 유치 단계부터 개원에 이르기까지 음성군과 관계기관의 긴밀한 협력으로 이뤄낸 결실”이라며 “단순한 병원을 넘어 중부권 주민들의 삶의 질을 바꾸는 핵심 복지 시설이 될 수 있도록 행정적 지원을 아끼지 않겠다”고 밝혔다.
국립소방병원은 연면적 3만9558㎡ 규모, 지하 2층·지상 4층 규모의 302병상 종합병원으로, 19개 진료과목을 갖춘 주요 국정과제 사업이다.
전국 62개 지자체가 참여해 치열한 경쟁을 뚫고 2018년 7월 16일 선정되었으며, 전·현직 소방공무원은 물론 인근 지역 주민까지 폭넓게 이용할 수 있어 의료취약지역인 중부 4군의 의료 접근성 제고와 주민 삶의 질 개선에 큰 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
