【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 동구의회 이진욱 의원(국민의힘)이 지방의회 의원을 대상으로 한 ‘대한민국지방의정봉사상’을 수상했다.
동구의회는 29일 오전 11시 의장실에서 정인숙 의장과 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 이 의원에 대한 상 수여식을 진행했다.
대한민국지방의정봉사상은 주민을 위한 헌신적인 봉사와 현장 중심의 의정활동, 지역사회 발전에 대한 기여도를 종합적으로 평가해 수여하는 상이다.
이 의원은 생활현장에서 제기되는 주민 불편을 의정활동의 출발점으로 삼아 주거환경 개선과 교통·생활 인프라 확충, 지역 현안 해결에 꾸준히 힘써왔다.
특히 지속적인 현장 소통을 통해 문제를 발굴하고, 이를 제도 개선으로 이끌기 위한 노력이 높이 평가받았다.
이진욱 의원은 “대한민국지방의정봉사상이라는 이름처럼 봉사의 자세로 의정활동에 임하라는 더 큰 책임감을 느낀다”며 “앞으로도 주민의 불편을 가장 먼저 듣고, 끝까지 고민하는 의원으로 남겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
이어 “의정 성과는 상에 머무는 것이 아니라 주민 삶이 개선되는 데서 의미가 있다고 믿는다”며 “동구 곳곳의 작은 불편부터 하나씩 해결해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
