아이를 돌보고, 주민이 배우며, 세대가 자연스럽게 어울리는 생활 속 돌봄·학습 플랫폼으로 진화하고 있다.
증평에는 현재 지역 곳곳에 20개 작은도서관이 운영되고 있다.
이들 작은도서관들은 독서 공간을 넘어, 아이들의 방과 후 돌봄 공간이자 주민의 배움터, 세대를 잇는 공동체 거점으로 자리매김했다.
특히 일부 작은도서관은 ‘행복돌봄나눔터’로 활용되며, 증평형 아동돌봄 정책의 핵심 인프라 역할을 맡고 있다.
방과 후 아이들이 자연스럽게 모여 책을 읽고, 놀이·체험·학습이 어우러지는 공간으로 기능하면서, 돌봄과 배움이 분리되지 않는 새로운 모델을 만들어가고 있다.
작은도서관의 가장 큰 강점은 생활권 밀착성이다.
