[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 하동수협이 6일 어업인의 안녕과 만선을 기원하는 ‘2026년 초매식’을 위판장에서 가졌다.
하승철 하동군수를 비롯한 손영길 수협장, 강대선 하동군의회 의장, 박희성 군의원, 장성환 사천해양경찰서장, 허양선 하동경찰서장 등 100여 명은 이른 아침 한자리에 모여 한 해의 풍어를 기원했다.
초매식은 기원제에 이어 감성돔, 농어, 물메기, 낙지, 주꾸미 등 이른 새벽 하동 연안에서 수확된 어획물에 대한 경매가 진행됐다.
하승철 군수는 “지난해 6년 만에 발생한 적조와 2개월 넘게 지속된 고수온으로 많은 어민이 어려움이 겪었다. 올해에는 수산업에 종사하는 모든 어민의 안녕을 기원드리며, 수산물이 제값을 받을 수 있도록 현장 중심의 정책을 꾸준히 지원하겠다”라고 말했다.
이와 관련, 군은 올해 총 20억 원의 사업비를 들여 3월 중 노량항에 저온·친환경 위판장을 조성한다.
위생적이고 체계적인 시설을 갖춘 노량항 신규 위판장은 연간 3천 500톤 이상의 위판 물량을 처리할 것으로 기대된다.
아울러 적조 및 해양쓰레기 대비 다용도 어업지도선 건조, 기능성 녹차참숭어 배합사료지원, 해삼 방류 등을 통해 지속 가능한 수산업 발전에 박차를 가하고, 지역의 균형적인 발전과 경제 활성화를 도모할 방침이다.
한편, 하동군수협은 지난해 어류·갑각류·패류 등 3천 471톤의 수산물을 위판해 426억 원의 위판고를 올렸다.
