Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, Holds '469th Anniversary Onneung Gisinjehyang'
Onneung (溫陵) is the tomb of Queen Dangyeong, the first wife of King Jungjong of the Joseon Dynasty, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
[Break News Yangju = Reporter Kim Wan-young] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, announced on the morning of the 6th that it held the '469th Anniversary Onneung Gisinjehyang' at Onneung, located at 255-41 Hoguk-ro, Jangheung-myeon.
Onneung (溫陵) is the tomb of Queen Dangyeong, the first wife of King Jungjong of the Joseon Dynasty. It is currently designated as National Historic Site No. 210 and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
This event, hosted by the Onreung Bonghyanghoe and organized by the Joseon Royal Tombs Management Office of the National Heritage Administration, was attended by approximately 200 officials and citizens. The ceremony consisted of the following: ▲Jegwan Customs ▲Jeonhyeongrye ▲Choheonrye ▲Aheonrye ▲Jongheonrye ▲Mangryorye ▲Yepil.
Attendees solemnly observed the ancestral rites, reflecting on the wisdom of Queen Dangyeong, who calmly protected King Jungjong in a moment of crisis, and honoring the moral spirit of the sages.
A Yangju City official stated, "We once again express our deepest gratitude to the officials and citizens who joined us for this meaningful event despite the cold weather. We will cooperate with relevant organizations to ensure the smooth preservation and management of our cultural heritage."
