고양특례시가 주민 생활환경 개선과 복지 증진을 위해 올해 발전소주변지역 지원사업을 본격적으로 추진한다.
발전소주변지역 지원사업은 「발전소주변지역 지원에 관한 법률」에 근거해 전력산업기반기금을 재원으로 시행되는 사업이다.
발전소의 원활한 운영을 지원하는 동시에 지역 발전에 기여하는 것을 목표로 한다.
올해 고양시의 발전소주변지역 지원사업 예산은 약 1억 2천만 원 규모다.
이번에 선정된 14건의 사업은 보건·복지, 환경개선, 문화·교육 등 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 있다.
주요 사업으로는 △일산동구보건소 치매안심센터의 진단검사 장비 구매 및 디지털 검진체계 구축 △백석1동 쓰레기 무단투기 상습지역의 가로화단 조성 △마두1동 문화강좌용 전자칠판 지원 등이 포함됐다.
시 관계자는 "앞으로도 주민 생활에 실질적인 도움이 되는 사업을 적극 발굴하고 지원해 발전소주변지역의 지속적인 발전에 기여하겠다"고 밝혔다.
한편, 이번 사업을 통해 고양시는 치매 조기 진단 체계 강화, 도시 미관 개선, 주민 문화·교육 환경 개선 등 다각도로 주민 삶의 질 향상을 도모할 전망이다.
