고양특례시가 병오년 새해 벽두부터 훈훈한 소식을 전했다.
대한불교조계종 보리선원이 지난 8일 지역 내 소외계층을 위한 성금 3백만 원을 고양시에 전달한 것이다.
이날 열린 성금 전달식에는 보리선원 무여스님을 비롯해 성윤진 복지정책과장, 사회복지공동모금회 경기북부본부 담당 팀장 등 관계자 7명이 자리를 함께했다.

특히 주목할 점은 보리선원의 '한결같은 나눔'이다. 보리선원은 2025년 초부터 고양시를 위한 정기 기부를 시작해 올해로 2년째 변함없는 자비를 실천하고 있다.
단순한 일회성 행사가 아닌, 지역사회와의 진정한 상생을 위한 지속적인 동행을 선택한 것이다.
무여 스님은 "새해를 맞아 고양시의 어려운 이웃들에게 작게나마 희망의 온기를 전하고 싶었다"며 "지난해에 이어 올해도 나눔에 동참할 수 있어 기쁘게 생각한다"고 소회를 밝혔다.
이어 "앞으로도 지역사회와 함께 걷는 보리선원이 되겠다"며 부처님의 가르침인 '동체대비(同體大悲)' 정신을 몸소 실천하겠다는 의지를 다졌다.
시 관계자는 "2년 연속 잊지 않고 따뜻한 정성을 보내주신 보리선원 관계자분들과 신도님들께 진심으로 감사드린다"며 "기탁해주신 성금은 복지 사각지대에 놓인 저소득 가구가 한파 속에서도 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있도록 소중히 사용하겠다"고 화답했다.
이번에 기탁된 성금은 경기사회복지공동모금회를 통해 고양시 관내 저소득층 가정에 전달될 예정이다.
새해 벽두부터 시작된 보리선원의 나눔이 지역사회에 따뜻한 온기로 퍼져나갈 것으로 기대된다.

The donations will be distributed to low-income families in Goyang City through the Gyeonggi Community Chest of Korea.
The Bodhisattva Monastery's sharing, which began at the beginning of the new year, is expected to spread warmth throughout the community.
