[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 함안군은 문화체육관광부가 주최하고 한국국제문화교류진흥원이 주관하는 ‘2026 대형 한류종합행사 연계 지자체 공모사업’에 함안낙화놀이가 최종 선정됐다고 12일 밝혔다.
이번 공모사업은 중앙과 지자체가 협력해 ‘2026 대형한류 종합행사(My K-Festa)’와 연계한 지역 특화 콘텐츠를 발굴하고 육성함으로써 한류의 다양성과 브랜드 가치를 강화하고 외래 관광객 유치를 확대하기 위한 사업이다.
함안군은 “함안낙화놀이 : 더 골든(The Golden)”을 주제로 전통과 현대 한류 콘텐츠를 결합한 기획 프로그램을 선보일 예정이다.
함안낙화놀이는 2025년 ‘한국 관광의 별’로 선정됐으며, 그동안 한국을 찾은 외국인들 관광객에게 널리 알려지지 않았지만 전통성과 예술성, 세계 확장 가능성을 함께 갖춘 고부가가치 한류 콘텐츠라는 점에서 새롭게 주목받고 있다.
조근제 함안군수는 “이번 공모사업 선정은 함안낙화놀이가 전통을 넘어 세계로 확장 가능한 한류 콘텐츠임을 공식적으로 인정받은 성과다”며 “전통 불놀이와 케이(K)-콘텐츠의 창의적인 결합을 통해 함안을 글로벌 야간 관광의 새로운 거점으로 성장시켜 나가겠다”고 전했다.
