홍천군에 미래의 희망인 아이들을 위한 ‘지식 나눔’의 물결이 끊임없이 이어지고 있다.
홍천군은 지난 13일 군수 접견실에서 취약계층 아동의 독서 문화 조성과 발전을 위한 ‘아동도서 기증 릴레이’ 기증식을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이날 기증식에는 릴레이의 25번째 주인공으로 (주)금강고속 윤병훈 대표가 참석했다. 윤 대표는 관내 아동과 청소년들이 책을 통해 꿈을 키워나갈 수 있도록 100만 원 상당의 도서를 기증하며 따뜻한 응원의 메시지를 전했다. ㈜금강고속은 지역 내 주요 노선을 운행하며 평소에도 지역사회 발전에 이바지해 온 대표적인 향토 기업이다.
기증식에 이어 지역 서점 활성화와 나눔 문화 확산에 기여한 유공자에 대한 포상도 진행됐다. 홍천군 아동도서 기증 릴레이를 처음 제안하고 시작해 지역 내 지식 나눔 문화를 정착시킨 공로를 인정받은 (주)신아일보 조덕경 사회부 국장이 강원특별자치도지사 표창장을 받았다.
홍천군 관계자는 “아동도서 기증 릴레이가 25회째 이어질 수 있도록 성원해주신 기증자분들과 지역 서점 활성화를 위해 애써주신 분들께 감사드린다”며, “기증된 도서들이 아이들의 정서 함양과 올바른 성장에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대한다”고 말했다.
