[브레이크뉴스=양영석 기자] 김해시는 최근 김해평야 인근과 도심지 일대에 겨울철새인 떼까마귀 무리가 출현함에 따라 시민 불편 최소화와 생태적 공존을 위한 대응 방안을 추진하고 있다고 14일 밝혔다.
시는 야간 시간대 떼까마귀 출현지역을 중심으로 순찰을 강화하고, 레이저 장비를 활용한 시각적 자극으로 도심지 외곽으로 이동을 유도하는 비살상 방식으로 대응하고 있다.
떼까마귀는 2024년 겨울 김해지역에서 처음 대규모로 관찰된 이후 올겨울에도 무리를 이뤄 찾아오면서 배설물 등으로 인한 민원이 다수 접수되고 있다.
주로 김해평야 인근과 인접한 부원동, 동상동 등 비교적 조명이 적은 도심 전선과 가로수에 앉아 도로, 인도, 주차 차량 등에 배설물 피해가 발생하고 있다.
떼까마귀는 시베리아 등 북방지역에서 월동을 위해 국내로 이동하는 겨울철새로, 낮에는 주로 농경지에서 먹이활동을 하고 해 질 무렵 가로수나 전선 등으로 이동해 휴식을 취하는 습성을 지니고 있다.
시 관계자는 “기온이 상승하면 자연스럽게 북쪽으로 이동할 것으로 보이나 군집성이 강해 이동 유도가 쉽지 않은 실정”이라며 “민원 발생 지역을 중심으로 현장 대응반을 운영하고 ‘떼까마귀 출현 주의’ 현수막 설치와 SNS 홍보 등으로 시민 불편 최소화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
이어 “배설물로 오염된 도로와 인도는 관련 부서와 협조해 신속히 정화 조치하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
