<브레이크뉴스 포천=이용하 기자>전국 최대 규모의 시설채소 산지인 포천시가 기후 변화와 연작 장해를 극복하고 고품질 농산물을 생산하기 위한 기술 혁신에 나섰다.
포천시시설채소연합회·연구회(회장 장성산)는 지난 15일 포천시농업기술센터에서 회원 90여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 시설채소 토양관리 교육 및 연시총회’를 개최했다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 행사는 포천 농업의 핵심 소득원인 시설채소의 생산성을 높이고, 급변하는 농업 환경에 대응하는 농가들의 전문 역량을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
특히 이날 교육에서는 농작물 안정 생산의 기초가 되는 ‘토양 관리’가 집중적으로 다뤄졌다. 경기도농업기술원 장재은 농업연구사가 강사로 나서 기후 변화와 장기간 재배로 인한 토양 악화 문제를 짚고, 이를 해결할 과학적 토양 관리 기술을 소개했다. 또한 국립농산물품질관리원 박정식 주무관의 농약허용물질목록관리제도(PLS) 사례 교육을 통해 소비자 신뢰를 높이는 안전 농산물 생산 체계를 점검했다.

장성산 회장은 “회원들의 끊임없는 노력이 포천 시금치와 열무를 전국 최고의 브랜드로 만들었다”며, “앞으로도 공동 활동과 실질적인 기술 공유를 통해 시설채소 산업의 위상을 더욱 높여 나가자”고 독려했다.
격려사에 나선 이경숙 포천시농업기술센터 소장은 “인력 부족과 기후 위기 등 어려운 여건 속에서도 현장을 지키는 농업인들의 노고에 감사드린다”며, “상호 협력과 소통을 바탕으로 포천시 농업 발전의 든든한 주역이 되어달라”고 당부했다.
한편, 포천시시설채소연합회는 16개 작목반 209명의 정예 회원으로 구성되어 있으며, 685ha 규모의 시설에서 시금치, 열무, 애호박 등을 생산해 전국의 주요 유통망에 공급하고 있는 명실상부한 지역 농업의 핵심 단체다.
