브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= LG유플러스는 통신 산업 생태계 활성화를 위해 통신장비 제조사 아리아텍과 ‘네트워크 오픈 API 플랫폼(Open API Gateway)’을 개발했다고 20일 밝혔다.
네트워크 오픈 API는 통신사가 가진 네트워크 기능을 표준화해 외부 개발자나 기업이 활용할 수 있도록 제공하는 기술이다. 전 세계 주요 통신 사업자들은 네트워크 오픈 API 기술 상용화를 본격적으로 추진하고 있다.
네트워크 오픈 API는 네트워크 ‘오픈 API 플랫폼’이라는 창구를 통해 외부에 전달된다. 외부 개발자 입장에서는 플랫폼을 통해 통신사의 검증된 기능을 API 형태로 쉽게 도입해 서비스 개발에 필요한 시간과 비용을 절감할 수 있다.
LG유플러스의 네트워크 오픈 API 플랫폼은 개인정보와 금용 보안을 강화하는 API(단말 번호 인증, SIM 변경 정보, 단말 위치 정보, 단말 상태 정보, 단말 기기 변경 정보)와 사용자가 원하는 시점에 통신 품질을 높이는 ‘QoD(Quality On Demand)’ 등을 API로 제공한다.
