친환경농업, 농촌체험교육, 귀농귀촌, 탄소중립 실천까지 이어진 정책 성과는 단순한 사업 나열을 넘어 '현장 중심 행정'의 모범 사례로 평가받고 있다.
◆전국이 인정한 농정 성과
사천시는 친환경농자재 지원사업 우수기관, 농업기술보급 우수사례 경진대회 최우수상, 농업인대학 3년 연속 우수기관, 친환경농업대상 단체부문 2년 연속 우수상, 농촌자원사업 종합평가회 치유농업 활성화 유공 도지사 표창 등 굵직한 수상을 잇달아 기록했다.
농업 R＆D 성과의 신속한 현장 확산과 농가 노동력 절감, 안전한 농산물 생산 체계 구축이 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 풀이된다.
특히 농업기술센터를 중심으로 추진된 시범사업과 기술보급 사업은 전국 150개 시·군이 참여한 평가에서 두각을 나타냈는데, 사천시 농정이 '계획형 행정'이 아닌 실행력 중심 정책임을 입증한 것이다.
