고양시와 KB국민은행이 함께 운영하는 배움누리(센터장 박병헌)는 지난 17일 서울도시가스 SCG한마음봉사단과 함께 연탄 300장을 기부하고 직접 전달하는 ‘사랑의 연탄 나눔’ 봉사활동을 진행했다.

이번 봉사활동은 겨울철 난방에 어려움을 겪는 고양시 관내 취약계층이 따뜻한 겨울을 보낼 수 있도록 돕기 위해 마련된 것으로, 참여자들은 연탄을 직접 나르며 이웃과 온정을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
자원봉사에 참여한 청소년 김수정(가명) 양은 연탄이 생각보다 무거워 봉사활동이 쉽지 않았지만 그만큼 봉사의 의미를 깊이 느낄 수 있었다고 전했으며 김 양은 평소 자신을 도와주는 어른들에 대한 감사한 마음이 떠올랐고, 이번 활동을 통해 이웃 어르신께 작은 도움이라도 드릴 수 있어 뜻깊었다고 소감을 밝혔다.
서울도시가스 SCG한마음봉사단 박삼석 회장은 배움누리 청소년들이 이번 봉사활동을 계기로 나눔의 가치를 몸소 체험하고, 지역사회의 건강한 구성원으로 성장해 나가길 바란다고 말했다.
배움누리는 앞으로도 지역사회와 연계한 다양한 나눔 활동을 통해 청소년들의 공동체 의식과 사회적 책임감을 키워나갈 계획이라고 전했다.
