기상청에 따르면 지난 19일 오후 9시를 기해 증평군 지역에 한파주의보가 발효됐으며, 오는 22일까지 최저기온이 영하 14도까지 떨어질 것으로 예상돼 당분간 매서운 한파가 이어질 전망이다.
이에 군은 한파로 인한 인명·재산 피해를 최소화하기 위해 초기 비상 대응 체계를 가동하고, 주요 상황을 상시 관리하는 등 선제적 대응에 집중하고 있다.
특히 취약계층 보호와 생활 불편 최소화를 최우선 과제로 설정했다.
