민주당 세종시당, 이해찬 서거에 " ‘완성된 세종’ 만드는 길...분명한 추모"

더불어민주당 세종시당은 26일 이해찬 전 국무총리 서거에 대해 깊이 애도했다.

세종시당은 이날 논평을 내고 "고인의 명복을 빌며 유가족과 동지, 고인을 존경해 온 모든 분들께 위로의 말을 전한다"고 밝혔다.

또 "이 전 총리는 민주주의의 험한 고비마다 맨 앞에 섰던 시대의 선봉이었다"며"유신 시기 민청학련 사건, 김대중 내란음모 사건 등으로 옥고를 치르면서도 굴하지 않았고, 한국 민주주의의 진전과 개혁의 길을 평생의 소명으로 삼았다"고 평가했다.

세종시당은 "고인은 2012년 스스로 세종으로 내려와  미완의 세종을 지키고 세종의 정치적 중심을 바로 세웠다"며"그 결단과 헌신이 있었기에 오늘의 세종이 있었다"고 강조했다.

이어 "오늘 우리는 한 사람을 떠나보내는 것이 아니라, 한 시대의 책임과 신념을 떠나보내는 아픔을 마주한다"면서 "그래서 슬프고, 더 미안하며, 가슴이 무너진다"고 애도했다.

그러면서 "이 전 총리가 꿈꾸던 ‘완성된 세종’으로 만들어 가는 길만이 그를 기리는 분명한 추모일 것"이라며 "민주당은 세종시민과 함께 그 뜻을  이어가겠다"고 다짐했다.
