【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군이 친환경 미래교통 인프라 확대에 발맞춰 공공시설 내 전기차 충전시설을 본격적으로 운영한다.
군은 지난 2023년부터 2025년까지 ‘지역별 무공해차 전환 브랜드사업’ 공모사업에 참여해 국비와 민간투자 유치에 성공, 총사업비 약 35억원을 전액 외부 재원으로 확보했다.
확보한 재원으로 군비 부담 없이 전기차 충전 인프라 구축을 완료했으며, 최근 운영 준비까지 마쳤다.
군은 2023년부터 2025년까지 3년에 걸쳐 급속 충전기 65기, 완속 충전기 52기 등 총 117기의 전기차 충전기를 설치했다.
설치 장소는 진천군청, 읍·면 행정복지센터, 문화예술회관, 충북혁신도시 복합혁신센터 등 공공청사와 주요 공공시설이다.
접근이 쉬운 생활밀착형 공간으로 누구나 쉽게 충전기를 이용할 수 있도록 배치해, 지역 내 충전 편의성을 한층 높였다.
또한, 24시간 운영 체계를 갖춰 군민 누구나 언제든지 자유롭게 이용할 수 있도록 했다.
급속 충전기는 약 30분 내외로 80% 이상 충전이 가능해 이용 대기 시간을 최소화해 전기차 사용자들의 만족도를 높일 것으로 예상된다.
이번 전기차 충전시설 확대는 군의 적극적인 친환경 정책 추진의 하나로, 탄소중립 사회 실현과 대기환경 개선에 크게 이바지할 것으로 기대된다.
한편, 공용 전기차 충전시설 이용이 어려운 전기차 소유자를 위한 비공용 충전시설 보급 지원사업도 신규사업으로 추진한다.
