공원식 포항시장 출마예정자, ‘원도심 아트 앤 테크노 로드’ 조성 정책 발표

【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=공원식 포항시장 출마예정자는 27일 오전 11시 포항시청 브리핑룸에서 기자회견을 열고 원도심 중앙상가를 중심으로 한 ‘원도심 아트 앤 테크노 로드’ 조성 정책을 발표했다.

공 출마예정자는 그동안 3·3·3 경제전략과 영일만 워터랜드 조성, 민자공원 활용 구상, 영일만 백리길 순환 힐링로드 프로젝트 등을 통해 포항의 중·장기 정책 방향을 제시해 왔으며, 이번에는 중앙상가를 살리기 위한 원도심 재생 전략을 내놓았다.

실행 계획으로는 먼저 연구·학습·창작이 실제로 이뤄지는 공간을 조성하겠다고 밝혔다. 전시 중심 공간이 아닌 배우고 연구하며 실험하는 공간으로, 포항테크노파크 재단을 중심으로 연구·기술·실증 기능 일부를 중앙상가로 확장해 청년들이 도심에 머물 수 있는 환경을 만들겠다는 구상이다.
