【브레이크뉴스 울진】이우근 기자=울진군이 관광객 1천만 시대를 대비해 추진 중인 사계절 오션리조트 조성사업이 사업시행자 선정을 위한 본격적인 절차에 돌입했다.

울진군은 2025년 10월 22일부터 2026년 1월 19일까지 ‘울진군 오션리조트 및 골프장 개발사업’ 사업시행자 공모를 추진한 결과, 사업 참여를 희망하는 민간 사업자 1곳이 신청서를 제출했다고 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 숙박과 레저·휴양 기능을 결합한 체류형 관광 거점 조성을 목표로 하는 울진 관광의 핵심 사업이다. 민간 제안 공모를 통해 우수 제안자를 선정한 뒤, 관련 절차를 거쳐 최종 사업시행자를 확정하게 된다.
‘울진군 오션리조트 및 골프장 개발사업’ 대상 부지는 근남면 산포리 697-4번지 일원 약 18만㎡와 매화면 오산리 산200번지 일원 약 134만㎡로, ▲관광진흥법에 따른 4성급 수준의 관광숙박시설 ▲300실 이상의 객실과 컨벤션 시설 ▲체육시설의 설치·이용에 관한 법률에 따른 18홀 이상 골프장 등 필수 시설이 조성될 예정이다.
해당 부지는 해양과 산림 등 풍부한 자연환경과 주변 관광자원과의 연계를 고려해 구상됐으며, 사계절 관광이 가능한 차별화된 복합관광단지 조성을 목표로 하고 있다.
울진군은 접수된 신청서를 토대로 오는 2월 5일 선정심의위원회 회의를 열고, 개발계획과 재무계획, 운영계획, 공공기여계획 등을 종합적으로 심의해 우선협상대상자를 선정할 방침이다.
이번 사업이 본격 추진될 경우 관광객 체류 시간 확대를 통한 지역 상권 활성화와 일자리 창출 등 경제적 파급 효과는 물론, 울진군이 추진 중인 관광 1천만 시대의 전략적 거점 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다.
울진군 관계자는 “이번 사업시행자 신청 접수를 계기로 오션리조트 및 골프장 개발사업이 구체적인 실행 단계에 들어섰다”며 “공정하고 투명한 절차를 통해 사업성과 지역 기여도, 실현 가능성을 면밀히 검토해 우선협상대상자를 선정하겠다”고 말했다.

Uljin County plans to hold a selection committee meeting on February 5th based on the applications received. The committee will comprehensively review development plans, financial plans, operational plans, and public contribution plans to select a preferred bidder.
If this project is fully implemented, it is expected to have economic ripple effects, including increased tourist stays, revitalizing local businesses and creating jobs. It is also expected to serve as a strategic hub for Uljin County's ambitious plan to attract 10 million tourists.
An Uljin County official stated, "With the acceptance of this project developer application, the Ocean Resort and Golf Course development project has entered the concrete implementation phase. We will carefully review the project's feasibility, regional contribution, and feasibility through a fair and transparent process before selecting a preferred bidder."
