A Sweet Showdown in Yangju, Gyeonggi Province… Byeolsan vs. Kyungdong University's "Dujonku Showdown"
"Yangjonku," featuring Yangju's specialty, the "Sparrow's Nest Strawberry," will also be introduced... 10 Citizen Judges Recruited... Blind Taste Competition
[Break News Yangju=Kim Wan-young] Yangju City, Gyeonggi Province, will host a unique interactive event, "Dujonku Showdown," featuring Yangju City's social media character "Byeolsan" and a team of Kyungdong University Hotel Culinary Arts students on February 5th at 3 PM at Kyungdong University.
The event will feature "Dujonku," a popular dessert among young people, where Byeolsan and Kyungdong University students will create their own cookies and compete in taste and perfection.
During the competition, "Yangjonku" (Yangju chewy cookies) made with "Chamsaebyeok strawberries," a specialty of Yangju, was also showcased, allowing visitors to taste and compare both types of cookies.
Notably, this event will allow citizens to directly participate in the judging process. Yangju City is recruiting 10 "citizen judges" on a first-come, first-served basis to taste the Dujonku and Yangjonku and determine the winner. The judging will be conducted through a blind taste test. Citizen judges are accepting applications until February 3rd. Interested citizens can apply by scanning the QR code (https://m.site.naver.com/1ZUHk) provided on the poster.
The entire competition and its results will be produced as video content and released on the "Yangju Byeolsan" YouTube channel.
Kim Young-jun, the public relations officer, said, “We organized this event to communicate more closely with citizens through a two-tongu competition between Byeolsan and university students,” and added, “We hope for a lot of interest and participation as you can also taste Yang-tongu made with Yangju’s specialty strawberry.”
