【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=대구 남구가 지난해 12월 1일부터 운영한 ‘2025 앞산 겨울정원’이 62일간의 일정을 성공적으로 마무리했다.
행사 기간 동안 약 50만 명이 찾으면서 앞산 일대가 겨울철 도심 속 새로운 관광 명소로 떠올랐다는 평가가 나온다.
남구에 따르면 이번 ‘앞산 겨울정원’은 대명동 앞산빨래터공원 일대에 크리스마스와 겨울을 테마로 꾸며졌다. 올해로 3회째인 행사는 높이 10m의 대형 트리와 산타, 루돌프, 눈사람 등 다양한 대형 조형물, 그리고 금빛 조명 연출로 관람객들의 이목을 사로잡았다.
특히 대구의 눈 내림이 적은 기후를 고려해 스노우머신을 전년보다 두 배로 늘려 겨울 분위기를 한층 더 살렸다는 게 남구의 설명이다. 야간 조명과 인공 눈이 어우러진 현장에는 가족 단위 방문객부터 젊은 층까지 연일 발길이 끊이지 않았다.
행사 기간 열린 ‘앞산 크리스마스 상생마켓’도 지역 경제에 힘을 보탰다. 이곳에서는 지역 소상공인들이 수공예품과 먹거리 등을 판매해 단순 전시를 넘어 실질적인 판로를 제공했다는 평이 이어지고 있다. 남구 측은 겨울정원 관람객 유입이 자연스럽게 인근 상권 활성화로도 연결됐다고 분석했다.
남구는 앞산 겨울정원을 한 단계 확장, 외국인 관광객 유치에도 나설 계획이다. 해외 주요 여행사와 협력해 단체 관광상품을 개발하고, 외국인 대상 야간 관광 코스도 운영할 방침이다.
조재구 남구청장 역시 “행사를 성공적으로 마칠 수 있어 뜻깊다”며 “앞으로도 더 많은 시민과 관광객이 앞산의 계절별 매력을 느낄 수 있도록 콘텐츠 보완에 힘쓰겠다”고 강조했다.
