원주시는 원주경찰서 지정지구대, 토토미누룽지, 원주시민안전봉사단 등 각계각층에서 취약계층을 위한 기부와 봉사활동에 동참했다고 3일 밝혔다.
먼저 원주경찰서 지정지구대는 지난 2일 지정면 행정복지센터를 찾아 직원들이 십시일반 모은 성금 20만 원을 기탁했다. 지정지구대 관계자는 "지역 치안을 책임지는 대원들이 주민들의 어려움에도 깊이 공감해 자발적으로 뜻을 모았다"며 "한파와 경기 침체로 힘든 이웃들에게 작은 보탬이 되길 바란다"고 전했다.

건강한 먹거리 나눔도 이어졌다. 토토미누룽지는 같은 날 지역 내 어려운 이웃을 위해 98만 원 상당의 누룽지와 미숫가루를 무실동 행정복지센터에 전달했다. 조재숙 대표는 "어르신들이 든든하게 드실 수 있도록 영양가 높은 제품으로 준비했다"며 "앞으로도 정성이 담긴 먹거리를 통해 지역사회에 나눔의 가치를 확산시키겠다"고 말했다.
