허태정 예비후보, 전통시장서 ‘온통대전’ 부활 의지 강조

허태정 더불어민주당 대전시장 예비후보가 연일 대전지역 전통시장을 돌며 지역화폐 ‘온통대전’의 부활 의지를 거듭 강조하고 있다.

허 후보는 10일 오전 중리전통시장을 찾아 설 명절 인사를 건네며 온통대전과 온누리상품권으로 직접 장을 보며 시민들과 소통했다. 

나물, 건어물 등을 구매하던 그는 지역화폐 카드를 사용하는 시민에게 “이 카드, 제가 만들었던 정책입니다”라며 반가운 인사를 건넸고, “요즘 혜택이 줄어 체감이 떨어지지 않느냐”는 질문에 시민이 “그렇다”고 답하자 “그 체감의 차이를 복원하겠다”고 응답했다.

예비후보 등록 이후 허 후보는 중앙시장, 태평시장, 도마시장, 한민시장 등 지역 전통시장을 잇달아 방문하며 상인과 시민의 의견을 청취해 왔다. 

그는 “현장을 직접 다니며 느낀 것은 지역화폐 혜택이 크게 줄어든 현실”이라며 “온통대전을 다시 시민과 상인이 모두 체감할 수 있는 지역경제 핵심 수단으로 복원하겠다”고 말했다.

허태정 예비후보는 또 “민생 정책은 회의실이 아니라 시장과 골목에서 검증돼야 한다”며 “서민경제 회복과 지역 내 소비 순환, 소상공인 매출 증대로 이어지는 정책을 우선 복원하고 강화하겠다”고 강조했다.

Heo Tae-jeong, the Democratic Party of Korea's preliminary candidate for Daejeon mayor, has been touring traditional markets throughout the Daejeon area, repeatedly emphasizing his commitment to the revival of the local currency, "Ontong Daejeon."

On the morning of the 10th, Candidate Heo visited Jungni Traditional Market to extend Lunar New Year greetings and interact with residents by shopping with Ontong Daejeon and Onnuri gift certificates.
