이날 회의는 원주시와 혁신도시 내 공공기관들이 머리를 맞대고 정주 여건 개선 등 실질적인 상생 방안을 논의하는 자리로 마련됐다. 참석자들은 기존에 건의되었던 16건의 안건에 대한 추진 현황을 점검하고, 새롭게 발굴된 6개 협력 사업에 대해 심도 있는 의견을 나눴다.

특히, 정부의 수도권 공공기관 2차 이전을 앞두고 강원혁신도시가 경쟁력 있는 거점 도시로 자리매김해야 한다는 데 뜻을 모았다. 이를 위해 시와 기관들은 수도권 소재 공공기관을 대상으로 한 유치 홍보 활동을 강화하고, 기관 간 협력 네트워크를 더욱 촘촘히 구축하기로 합의했다.
