12일 대전역서 규탄대회 개최... 실질적 권한·재정 이양 없는 졸속 추진 비판

국민의힘 대전광역시당(위원장 이은권)이 급물살을 타고 있는 대전·충남 행정통합 논의를 ‘정치적 속도전’으로 규정하고, 실질적인 재정 보장과 권한 이양이 전제되지 않은 졸속 추진을 강력히 규탄했다.
국민의힘 대전시당은 12일 오후 대전역 서광장에서 당원과 시민들이 집결한 가운데 규탄대회를 열고, 현재 진행 중인 통합 논의의 문제점을 조목조목 비판하며 전면적인 재설계를 요구했다.
이은권 시당위원장은 이날 규탄사에서 “대전·충남 행정통합은 단순히 행정구역을 합치는 차원을 넘어 수도권 일극 체제에 대응하는 국가적 설계”라며 논의의 무게감을 강조했다.
그러나 현재의 추진 방식에 대해서는 “재정 지원의 실효성과 실질적 권한 이양이 빠진 채 속도에만 치우쳐 있다”며 강한 우려를 표명했다.
특히 정부와 정치권이 내세우는 ‘선(先) 통합·후(後) 보완’ 방식에 대해 “지방분권의 핵심인 권한과 재정이 법 조문에 명확히 담기지 않은 상태에서 통합을 강행한다면, 결국 내용은 비어 있고 이름만 거창한 제도로 전락할 것”이라고 직격했다.
이 위원장은 행정통합의 성공 조건으로 ‘시민의 동의’를 꼽았다. 그는 “행정통합은 정치적 이벤트가 아니라 시민의 삶을 송두리째 바꾸는 구조적 결정”이라며 “시민들이 충분히 이해하고 판단할 수 있도록 관련 정보를 투명하게 공개하고, 시민 참여 구조를 반드시 마련해야 한다”고 촉구했다.
참석한 당원과 시민들 역시 “시민 무시하는 졸속 통합 중단하라”, “명확한 재정 로드맵 제시하라” 등의 구호를 외치며, 충분한 설계와 검증 없는 행정통합 추진에 반대 목소리를 높였다.
