충남 당진의 한 돼지농장에서 아프리카돼지열병(ASF)이 발생해 방역 당국에 비상이 걸렸다. 지난해 11월 첫 발생과 이달 초 보령 발생에 이어 도내 세 번째 사례다.
충남도는 당진시 순성면에 위치한 돼지농장에서 폐사한 돼지를 정밀 검사한 결과, 12일 오전 1시경 최종 양성 판정이 나왔다고 밝혔다. 해당 농장은 지난 이틀간 평소 대비 4배가 넘는 68마리의 돼지가 갑자기 폐사하자 방역 당국에 검사를 의뢰했으며, 검사 대상 13마리 중 11마리에서 바이러스가 확인됐다.
도는 확진 판정 즉시 발생 농장에 초동방역팀을 투입해 출입을 엄격히 통제하고, 사육 중인 돼지 5,000마리에 대한 살처분과 매몰 작업을 이날 중 완료할 계획이다.

이승한 충남도 농축산국장은 “보령에 이어 당진에서도 추가 발생함에 따라 도내 전 지역이 위험권에 들어온 상황”이라며 “농장 보호를 위해 외부인 출입 통제, 축사 전용 장화 착용 등 기본 방역 수칙을 철저히 지켜달라”고 간곡히 당부했다.
